Barrister Chinedu Ononiba has commended Njiloka Vollyball Team for clinching second position In Anambra Championship.
Hon. Ononiba who is the Chairman of Njikoka local government area while speaking in his office said Njikoka Volleyball Team has recorded a remarkable achievement by finishing second at the Anambra State Volleyball Championship, a competition that featured teams from the 21 local government areas of the state.
In her remarks, the First Lady of Njikoka, Mrs. Pamela Ononiba, disclosed that the Njikoka Volleyball Team is an offshoot of the Healthy Living Programme championed by Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the First Lady of Anambra State.
Mrs Ononiba expressed pride in the team’s performance, noting that emerging second among all local governments in the state is a commendable feat.
She encouraged the players to put in more effort and remain focused in future competitions, assuring them of continued support.
Speaking on the team’s performance, Head Coach, Uche Okafor, commended the players for their discipline, resilience, and unwavering commitment throughout the tournament.
Okafor attributed the success to effective teamwork and consistent training, noting that the team displayed significant improvement and determination against strong opponents.
Coach Okafor also expressed appreciation for the mayor’s encouragement and continued support for sports development. According to him, the visit greatly boosted the morale of the players and underscored the importance of grassroots sports development in the area.
Reaffirming the team’s ambitions, the coach stated that the players are determined to build on the achievement and aim for the top position in future competitions. He further called on relevant stakeholders to sustain their support to enhance volleyball development in Njikoka.
