Wike Unveils Majority FM in Rivers as Early Platform for Tinubu Re-election Bid

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike unveiled a new radio station to bolster President Bola Tinubu’s re-election drive in Rivers State.

Majority FM 89.5, housed within the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office in the state capital, aims to amplify the administration’s message across the South-South region amid intensifying political jockeying.

Wike, a former Rivers governor whose alliance with Tinubu has reshaped local dynamics, toured the facility in a video shared online, engaging with staff amid the hum of broadcast equipment.

“This will take messages from all over the 666 units of Rivers state, we are ready for this job, we are ready for 2027,” Wike declared during the launch, underscoring the station’s role in coordinating campaign efforts at the ward level.

The initiative reflects Wike’s deepening ties to the ruling All Progressives Congress, despite his past affiliation with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, and comes as the Renewed Hope movement—aligned with Tinubu’s agenda—seeks to consolidate support in a state marked by factional rifts.
