Super Eagles forwards Ademola Lookman and Victor Onyedika both found the net as Atlético Madrid staged an exhilarating 3-3 draw against Club Brugge in their UEFA Champions League playoff first-leg clash at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday.
Lookman opened the scoring in the 11th minute, capitalising on a swift counterattack to put the Spanish giants ahead. However, Brugge responded with two quick goals, before Onyedika restored parity with a composed finish just before half-time.

The first half unfolded at breakneck pace, with both sides refusing to sit back. Lookman’s early strike stoked the home crowd, but Brugge’s resilience was evident as they turned the scoreline around midway through the opening 45 minutes.
Onyedika’s equaliser, his first in the competition this season, came at a crucial moment and injected fresh momentum into the match. The midfielder’s strike drew loud cheers from the stands and sent both teams into the break level.
Brugge again seized the lead shortly after the interval, but Atlético, spurred on by the home support, answered with a late goal to ensure the tie remained finely poised ahead of the second leg.
