In an Oriental Derby clash played at the Awka City Stadium, Anambra State owned club, Solution FC defeated Abakaliki FC by 2 goals to 1
Moses Amanekwe gave the home side the lead in the 11th minute as he poked home a brilliant finish assisted by Olalekan Adetona in a frenetic contest filled with vibes and drama of an Oriental Derby.
Just before the break, the Rice Boys benefitted from a controversial set play call from the Centre Referee as substitute, Izuchukwu Ogbodo capitalized on a rebound from the earlier kick to restore parity for the visitors as the half came to a crescendo.
In the second half, an overlapping Timileyin Babalola restored the lead for Solution FC off a fine curler just outside the box beyond the Rice Boys Goalkeeper Pascal Elochukwu’s line of sight.
There were dramatic moments in the closing stages of the match leading to a brawl from both sides, marching orders being served by the CR to two players from both ends and the Rice Boys players refusing to restart play as some point but however, the Solution Boys held on for a deserved victory and the maximum points at stake in the clash.

Midfielder, Henry Abasim won the Man-of-the-match (MOTM) award and cash prize of N30,000 bankrolled by Nolun Chattels Ltd for his heroics and effervescent display during the match.
Solution FC next game will be against Osun United in Ile-Ogbo.
