VDM: Sowore Vows to Free Blord, Condemns Abuse of Legal Process

Omoyele Sowore has pledged to secure the release of businessman Blord, who is currently remanded in prison on charges of impersonating social media figure VeryDarkMan.

Sowore described the detention as an example of the law being weaponised against citizens and warned that such practices undermine justice.

“We will not allow the law to be turned into a weapon against innocent Nigerians,” he said. “Blord’s continued detention is unjust and we are determined to see him freed.”

The activist, who has a history of challenging perceived misuse of state power, said the case highlights broader issues of selective prosecution and intimidation.

He called on authorities to ensure due process is followed and urged Nigerians to resist any attempt to silence critics or business figures through arbitrary arrests.

Blord was remanded following allegations of creating fake accounts and content that mimicked VeryDarkMan, but Sowore maintains the charges lack merit and appear politically motivated.
