Soludo Awards Full Scholarship To 37 First Class Graduates Of COOU

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced a full scholarship package for thirty-seven First Class graduates of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) to pursue their Master’s and Doctorate degrees in any Nigerian university.

Prof. Soludo disclosed this during the sixteenth Convocation Ceremony of the institution held at the Igbariam Campus on Saturday.

In his address, Soludo emphasized that the sponsorship is part of his administration’s commitment to rewarding academic excellence and strengthening the state’s education sector.

Prof. Soludo while congratulating the graduands, challenged them to be catalysts for national change.

The Governor charged the youth to move beyond lamentation and take active roles in restoring the country’s economic stability.

Soludo assured the university community of his dedication to staff welfare, noting that he will soon meet with the University Management and Governing Council to finalize a sustainable financial and support framework.

The Vice-Chancellor of COOU, Prof. Kate Omenugha, in her remarks, described the sixteenth convocation as a historic milestone, revealing that for the first time in the university’s twenty-five-year history, the event played host to two foreign ambassadors, signaling the institution’s growing global profile.

In his speech, newly appointed Chancellor, Most Rev. Bishop Matthew Kukah, expressed his appreciation to Anambra State Government for the honour of his appointment.

Bishop Kukah lauded the visible progress within the university, and urged the new alumni to remain connected to their alma mater by contributing their skills and resources to its growth.
