Anambra FA Emerge Best Football Association

The Anambra State Football Association has been named Best State Football Association by the Nigeria National League (NNL) following the conclusion of the Super 4 tournament held in Ikenne, Ogun State on Friday.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
Micheal Mbaezu received the award on behalf of the Anambra Football Association Chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi.

Speaking on the award, Iloenyosi expressed delight at the recognition and dedicated the award to Ichie Akubudike na Umudioka, Chief Jim Martin Nwabueze Agubuzo, acknowledging his support and influence.

“This award is not just for the Anambra FA but for the people who have stood behind us. I dedicate it to Ichie Akubudike na Umudioka, Chief Jim Martin Nwabueze Agubuzo for his unwavering support.

“Agubuzo has taken it upon himself to sponsor the Anambra State League, a competition that had not been held for over 30 years. That is one of the reasons I am dedicating this award to him, for the good work he is doing in the state and for putting smiles on the faces of youths across Anambra,” Iloenyosi said.

The former Super Eagles defender also reiterated his commitment to improving football in the state, pledging to sustain efforts aimed at grassroots development and administrative excellence.

Iloenyosi, who currently serves as the Board of Trustees Chairman of the All Nigeria Football Players Union, is also vying for a seat on the Nigeria Football Federation Board to represent the South-East in the September 2026 elections.

The tournament, which was won by Sporting Lagos FC, also featured other top sides including Inter Lagos FC, Ranchers Bees and Doma United.
