Soludo Swears-In 18 Commissioners As Exco Members

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has officially sworn-in eighteen commissioners at the Executive Council Chambers Light House, Awka.

Addressing the newly cabinet members, the Governor emphasized that their appointments were strictly a call to rigorous work, sacrifice, and public accountability rather than personal celebration.

Prof. Soludo admonished the appointees to immediately focus on the task of governance and reminded them that the decisions they make will directly impact the lives of over nine million residents of Anambra State.

The swearing-in ceremony follows the recent screening and formal confirmation of the nominees by the Anambra State House of Assembly.

With the legal frameworks concluded, the Governor charged the newly inaugurated commissioners to run their respective ministries with a high level of prudence and synergy.

The names of the commissioners include Ben Odoemena (Agriculture); Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA (Budget and Economic Planning); Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism); and Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education).

Others are Dr. Clem Aguiyi (Environment); Dr. Afam Obidike (Health); Dr. Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation); Professor Offornze Amucheazi, SAN (Lands); and Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs).

Also sworn-in were Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources); Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development); Engr. Casmir Agummadu (Power); Engr. Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure); Eddy Ibuzo (Transport); Esther Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development); Patrick Agha, Mba (Youth Development and Sports); Arc. Henry Arinze (Commissioner for Housing) and Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu (Commissioner for Commerce).

Also inaugurated were Managing Director, Anambra Road Traffic Agency, ARTMA, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Dr. Ossy Onuko, MD, Information Communication Technology Agency, Mr Fred Agbata, as well as Managing Director, Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, Engr. Obi Okonkwo.

Hon. Izunna Okafor (Finance) and Barr. Tochukwu Nweke (Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice), had been sworn-in, bringing the total number of Commissioners to twenty.

Reconstitution of the State Executive Council signals the formal rollout of “Team Solution 2.0,” coming weeks after Governor Soludo dissolved his previous cabinet shortly after his second-term inauguration.
