The General Overseer of Chapel of Faith Bible Assembly, Onitsha, Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, has engaged three Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) and seven other lawyers to challenge allegations by Chukwuma Soludo that he is a fake pastor.

Bishop Nwankpa has been accused of promoting false Christian teachings and undermining Christian values through the alleged staging of fake miracles.
At the resumed hearing of his bail application on Monday, the cleric appeared in court with a formidable legal team comprising three SANs and seven other lawyers to contest the allegations brought against him by the Anambra State Government.
However, lawyers representing the Anambra State Government, including officials from the Office of the Attorney-General, were absent from the proceedings.
Due to their non-appearance, the presiding judge was unable to proceed with the matter and subsequently adjourned the case until June 19, 2026, for further hearing on the bail application.
Meanwhile, hundreds of worshippers and supporters gathered at the court premises in a show of solidarity with the cleric.
The supporters expressed confidence in the judicial process and maintained that justice would prevail in the matter.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the case continues to attract public attention amid the Anambra State Government’s ongoing campaign against individuals accused of engaging in fraudulent religious and spiritual practices.
