ASTUC Youth Wing Honours Six Community Role Models In Njikoka LGA

The Youth Wing of the Anambra State Town Unions Council (ASTUC) has honoured six distinguished individuals from six communities in Njikoka Local Government Area for their outstanding contributions to community development and service to Anambra State.

The recipients of the ASTUC Youth Recognition Awards are Chief Innocent Obelle (Nawfia), Hon. Dozie Nwankwo (Enugwu-Ukwu), Chief Humphrey Iloh (Abagana), Chief Cosmas Agagbo (Abba), Comrade Johnbosco Ementa (Enugwu-Agidi), and Chief Christopher Agbim (Nimo).

Speaking at the event, the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Udoji Amedu, congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to continue partnering with the state government through the Public-Private-Community Partnership (PPCP) initiative to accelerate development across communities.

Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Chinedu Umeadi, represented by Mr. Uchenna Umeadi, urged young people to embrace legitimate means of livelihood, emphasizing that hard work, discipline and integrity remain the foundation of lasting success.

In his address, the President-General of the ASTUC Youth Wing, Comrade Ken Okoli, explained that the recognition programme is designed to celebrate individuals making meaningful impacts in their communities. He disclosed that the initiative would be extended to all 21 local government areas of Anambra State to inspire youths to embrace hard work, resilience and community service, while encouraging successful individuals to invest in youth empowerment in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development vision.

Responding on behalf of the awardees, Chief Innocent Obelle, represented by Mr. Alex Ezechinwoke, and Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, represented by Mr. Darlington Ugezu, expressed appreciation to the ASTUC Youth Wing for the recognition.

They reaffirmed their commitment to youth empowerment, educational support and sustained contributions to the development of their communities and Anambra State.
