Morocco Names Casablanca Stadium as 2030 World Cup Final Venue

Morocco has declared that the final of the 2030 FIFA World Cup will be staged at the Grand Stade Hassan II in Benslimane, near Casablanca, despite the world governing body yet to confirm the host city for the showpiece match.

Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, made the announcement on Thursday at a political party event in Bouznika, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

Spain and Morocco remain locked in a contest to host the tournament’s decisive fixture.

“What you should know is that the province of Benslimane will have the honour of hosting the 2030 World Cup final,” Lekjaa said.

He also voiced hope that Morocco would meet France in the final.

“And God willing, may there be a final bringing together Morocco and France so that we can take our revenge,” Lekjaa added.

Morocco were eliminated 2-0 by France in the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals on July 9.

The Hassan II Stadium, currently under construction for the tournament, is designed to hold 115,000 spectators and is projected to become the world’s largest football-specific arena.
