Udeze Commends Ezeokafor Over Giant Strides In Awka Catholic Diocese

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, has commended the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, for his outstanding evangelical and ecumenical contributions to the growth and development of the Diocese.

Udeze, in a goodwill message to Bishop Ezeokafor on the occasion of his 74th birthday, described the Bishop as a distinguished Prelate whose deep knowledge of theology and church administration had contributed immensely to the development of the Awka Catholic Diocese.

The message, signed by the Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Rev. Emma Madu, noted that the Diocese had continued to serve as a reference point in the advancement of Catholic doctrine and worship under Bishop Ezeokafor’s leadership.

The Speaker also recalled Bishop Ezeokafor’s immense contributions to the training and formation of future Catholic priests, particularly during his tenure as Rector of St. Dominic Savio Seminary, Akpu, and St. John Bosco Seminary, Isuaniocha.

He urged other Prelates and men of God to emulate the Bishop’s sterling religious attributes, dedication and commitment to the service of God and humanity.

Udeze further called on Catholics in the Diocese to support Bishop Ezeokafor’s efforts by committing their time and God-given resources to the advancement of the Church and the service of humanity.

He also urged the faithful to uphold the sanctity of their faith and remain committed to the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.

The Speaker prayed God to continue to strengthen and flourish Bishop Ezeokafor’s episcopate, while asking for divine blessings, good health and longevity for the Bishop to enable him continue to discharge his episcopal mandate effectively.
