The Executive Chairman (Mayor) of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Ikechukwu Okakpu (OKD Jnr.), has held a high-level security stakeholders meeting with the heads of various security and law-enforcement agencies operating within Njikoka Local Government Area.
The meeting, which was convened as part of the Local Government Council’s efforts to strengthen security, peace and public safety across the six towns of Njikoka, brought together the heads of various security formations and enforcement agencies in the Local Government Area.
In attendance were the Udo Ga Chi Local Government Strike Force, Agunechemba Abagana, the Nigeria Immigration Service Divisional Officer, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Divisional Officer, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Station Officer, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Nimo, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Abagana, and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Njikoka.
Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Chairman of Njikoka Local Government, the Secretary to the Local Government, the Chief of Staff to the Mayor, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Mayor, Hon. Prince Chidolue Nwankwo.
The meeting provided a platform for the Mayor and the various security agencies to engage on matters concerning the security and general well-being of residents, as well as the need for greater cooperation, intelligence sharing and effective coordination among the various security formations operating within Njikoka.
The Mayor reaffirmed the commitment of the Njikoka Local Government Council to working closely with all security agencies and relevant stakeholders to maintain peace, protect lives and property, and ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, businesses and visitors throughout the Local Government Area.
