Hon members on Tuesday during its plenary session cries out over the recent fire outbreak in Anambra state, called the executive governor to help those affected.
Hon Onyebuchi Augustine Offor member representing Ekwusigo constituency lament over the fire outbreak in Ekwusigo secretariat, he said that a department in the local government area was burnt down totally.
He blamed the local government chairman for allowing over grown grass in the local government .
He said that the cause of the fire outbreak is traced to hunters who light the bush from far off to catch bush meat, not knowing that the bush is connected to Ekwusigo secretariat. He said that “ if the local government chairman had instructed that the bush be cut off, the fire would not have gotten into the building.
Okpuno egbu fire outbreak was also presented to the honorable house of assembly, drawing the attention of the state governor Chief willie Obiano to see how the Anambra state government could be of help to the victims of the inferno.
Hon Emeka Aforka also urge the honorable house to sympathize with the people of Orumba north. In his words he said “ there was a market” I said was because “ the market is no longer in existence”.
He said the market was a popular market at Oko known as Okoli asiegbu market behind total filling station . He said a lot of traders where left shattered on the 17th of January when the market got burnt and the course of the inferno could not be traced.
He said all the goods of people got burnt to ashes and he said that the state government should help establish fire service around the environs of Orumba and including Aguata local government area in case of future occurrence.
The speaker of the Anambra state house of rep; Hon Uche Okafor sympathize and empathize with all those affected and also commend the governor Chief Willie Obiano for building fire service in almost all the market in Anambra state.
The Hon speaker also advised ndi Anambra to be careful and know that we are in dry season and fire can easily spread fast.
