Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim today, 30th April, 2022 ordered squatters and scavengers constituting environmental pollution along Nise/Amawbia Road to evacuate the area.
The Deputy Governor explained that the squatters, who engage in scavenging from a refuse dump opposite a quarter in Amawbia are encouraging unauthorized dumping of refuse in the said location.
He assured of immediate evacuation of the refuse from the illegal dump sites and warned those breaking the law to desist.
The state government is geared towards tackling environmental pollution and criminals hiding under scavengers.
