Anambra Assembly on Thursday started with an opening prayer by the speaker Honorable Uche Okafor, he welcomed everyone present.
The Multi year budget framework, economic and fiscal update- EFU, Fiscal strategic paper-FSP and budget policy statement-BPS may 2022 to cover year 2022 to 2024 was presented and considered in the Anambra Assembly plenary.
Honorable Obinna Chris Emenaka member representing Anambra east constituency during the consideration of the Mtef (Medium term expenditure framework) explained that Mtef is a public finance management, where resources of every government are allocated according to their priority.
He stressed that the former government of Anambra State presented a medium term expenditure framework for 2022, after which the government was concluded and the incumbent Anambra government come up a revised budget for 2022, alongside with the medium term expenditure framework, with a different budget.
He said that this government have a new budget of 169, 621,744 as against the 140,104991. This prompted the Mtef examination.
The chairman house committee and appropriation honorable Obinna Emenaka moved a motion that the documents be used as a working tools for the Anambra Assembly.
Honorable Noble Igwe member representing Ogbaru 1 constituency seconded the motion moved by honorable Obinna Emenaka.
Honorable Godwin Nnamdi Okafor member representing Awka South 1 constituency moved a motion for adjournment to Friday the 15th day of July 2022.
Honorable Nonso Smart Okafor member representing Nnewi North constituency seconded the motion for adjournment.
