2023: ANSAA issues Severe Advertising guidelines as Sept. Campaign Gets Underway

The Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) just released a statement concerning strict prohibition of election campaign advert against their rules, as 150 days for campaign draws nearer.

The statement reads: “that posting of posters on bridges, road demacation, street light poles, roundabouts and public buildings, remain prohibited.”

In the statement duly signed by MD/CEO of ANSSA, Mr Tony Odili Ujubuonu, it reads furtherly “that every campaign material and advert forms such a Posters, Public address system, Banners, Flier, Bunting, T-shirts, Caps, and Sundries must be duly approved after full payment of the requisite fee”.

According to ANSSA, the advert electoral campaign fee is base on the aspiring position; Presidential Billboard, ₦10m; Senatorial Billboard, ₦7m; Fed. House of Rep, ₦5m and State House of Assembly, ₦1m.

In addition, every payment was noted to be directed to the government revenue account before actualisation.

ANSSA went on to outline the cost for statutory for “Out of Home Media and Mobile Advertising”, which is as follows: Gantery display, ₦500,000; Irregular shaped billboard, ₦100,000; 48 sheet billboard, ₦100,000; Spectacular billboard, ₦500,000; Branded Vehicles ₦50,000; Keke rear branding, ₦5,000.

The concluding parts of the statement reads “that every of the billboard must be displayed through a recognized Advertising Practitioner after the advert content has been duly vetted by the [Advertising Practitioners Council Of Nigeria] APCON”.
