Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and his Niger and Kogi counterparts, Abdullahi A Sule and Yahaya Bello respectively; the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi and the All Progressives Congress vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima are recipients of True Nigerians Award and Hall of Fame, scheduled for December 1, 2022, at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
Others are: Senator Aishatu D. Ahmed, Dr. M.K Dikwa, Obinna Iyiegbu, CEO OF Cubana Group; Chairman of Air Peace Airlines, Mr. Allen Onyema; Olympics gold medalist, Tobi Amosun; Steve Babaeko, and Mr. Marcaroni.
The True Nigerian Award is an offshoot of “True Nigerians: Heroes of our time,” a 30 minutes television programme designed to celebrate Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora, who have excelled in their chosen professions or endeavours.
The programme will feature on AIT Network, DSTV (Africa Magic World), TSTv, Wazobia MaxTV, NTA Intl, NTA 2 Lagos Network, with iconic musician, Zaaki Azzay, as anchor.
Among notable Nigerians who had been featured on the programme included: Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governors of Benue, Nasarawa, Niger, Kaduna states; Senators Oker-Jev, Shehu Sani, Dino Melaye, Abba Moro and Ben Murray Bruce; Minister of Trade & Investment, Minister of Labour & Employment; DGs of NAFDAC, NOA, SMEDA, NAPTIP, ECN; Executive Chairman FIRS; MD/CEO, NEXIM Bank, Executive Secretary TETFund; Chief of Army Staff and Inspector General Of Police.
