Brighton beat Liverpool for the first time ever in the top-flight on Saturday
Solly March scored twice in the early stages of the second half for the hosts
Danny Welbeck netted late on to round off a comprehensive victory
Brighton move above Liverpool into seventh in the Premier League table
Brighton produced a dominant performance to ease past Liverpool 3-0 at the Amex Stadium, as the Reds’ Premier League woes continued.
The hosts were the better team before the break, and thought they’d won a penalty when Solly March was tripped by Alisson, only for VAR to rule that the Brighton man was just offside in the build-up.
Jurgen Klopp would have expected a response from his side after the interval, but it was Brighton who took the lead inside 60 seconds when March got on the end of Kaoru Mitoma’s cross-cum-shot to put the Seagulls in front. March then added a second with a fine finish, before Danny Welbeck made it three to send Brighton above Liverpool in the table.
