Anambra North Senatorial Candidate Dr. (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) was received in grand style by traders of Onitsha Main Market when she paid them a courtesy visit.
Mrs Obiano who is the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate accompanied by her husband the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano were welcome by a huge crowd
Dr. Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano in her address urged the traders to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), assuring them that their votes will count. Osodieme while soliciting for their votes promised to attract the devedends of democracy to the zone if voted into office. While presenting her agenders, the former first lady of Anambra state called for their continues support stating that she won’t disappoint them at the red chambers.
Chief Willie Obiano, overwhelmed by the rousing welcome, thanked traders, party zonal leaders, for their continued support over the years. He recalled that it was the traders that made him win the 21 local government areas in the state during the March 2017 gubernatorial election popularly referred to as ‘21 over 21 election victory, the first of its kind in the state.
” As Governor of Anambra State for eight years, i enjoyed a good working relationship with the traders. I have always known traders working as a team and with one spirit and that why we are here today urging you all to vote for my wife. I regard this place as a friendly territory. My policies as a governor favoured traders in the state, we are part of you. One good turn deserves another; all I ask of you is to vote for my wife into the senate come the February general elections.
The market leaders in the various remarks thanked Chief Willie Obiano and his wife Osodieme for there kind gestures towards traders as the governor of state, empowering ndi Anambra for the development of the state.
They appreciated Chief Obiano for his developmental projects, citing the Anambra International Airport, the International Conference Centre, The new Awka Stadium, Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, Anambra Small Business Agency, among other people friendly projects that benefited Anambarians.
The traders recalled how Mrs. Obiano’s through Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE) her NGO put smiles on their faces and restored hope to many. They said CAFÉ empowered ndi Anambra with a passion for the needy and less privileged in the society.
