…Urges family to sustain legacies of deceased
…When someone dies, his work is what is usually remembered
Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, CFR was at the burial mass of Comrade Peter Nkachukwu Ubah at St Peter’s Clavers Catholic Church, Otolo Nnewi to sympathize with the Transition Committee Chairperson for Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Amaka Obi.Â
Comrade Peter Nkachukwu Ubah who died at the age 82, was the father of Hon. Amaka Obi, the Idemili South TC Chairperson.
Soludo in his speech tasked the Ubah family on sustaining the good name of their late father. The governor emphasized that the late Ubah lived a good life. He asked the family to sustain the legacies of the deceased, describing the occasion as celebration of a life well lived.

“We have come to celebrate a life well lived. When someone dies, his work is what is usually remembered. In the case of late comrade Ubah, he is remembered today, having served as leader of all teachers in the old Anambra and the pioneer chairman of NUT.
“We pray that his soul will be accepted by God. As his children, you should sustain his legacy.” The Governor further emphasized.

“It appears the Late Ubah lived a life of service that runs in his family. His daughter, Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi is rendering service to humanity, starting from WIGA and an astute Soludo apostle”, Governor Soludo pointed out.
While emphasizing that Anambra will continue to grow in all facets of development and human endeavour, Governor Soludo prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Ubah.

In a homily, the Chaplain of St. Luke’s Chaplaincy Nnamdi Azikiwe Unibersity Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Rev. Fr. Anthony Kizito Okonkwo spoke on the notion that ‘a good name is better than riches’.

“Anyone who loves and follows Jesus Christ understands this principle. Can God attest to your lifestyle if you drop dead today?
“To the family, no matter the tributes you give to your late father, the most important thing is for you to ensure that one of your father’s Legacies- his good name, is sustained”, Rev Fr. Okonkwo admonished. He urged them to strive to always live in love and unity.
“May God help us to live a life of purity”, concluded the Catholic priest.

The Senator representing Anambra South, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, members of Anambra State Executive Council, Transition Committee Chairmen, family friends and well wishers attended the mass.
