* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commended Anambra voters for trooping out in their numbers to exercise their civic responsibility. He commended the election umpire for improved technology and encouraged the people to wait patiently to cast their votes. Noting that the election has been peaceful in all parts of the state, Governor Soludo expressed hope that the democratic process of the country will be deepened with active participation of the electorates.
* Anambra State government has reiterated its commitment to activating and harnessing the rich untapped potential of Orumba North and South Local Government Areas. Governor Chukwuma Soludo gave the promise when he inspected the ongoing twenty-seven-kilometer Ufuma-Awa-Amansea Road and also inaugurated the construction of nine-point four-kilometer Ezira -Umuomaku- Enugwu Umuonyia- Achina road.
* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Oye, has commended the hitch-free process at the polls yesterday describing it as seamless. Chief Oye was speaking to journalists after he exercised his franchise at his polling booth, Ngene Ward Three Amawbia Unit 002 in Awka South, Anambra State. Chief Oye said he was among the first set of people to vote at his polling booth and the whole processes were very smooth. He expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout of the voters who were eager and enthusiastic to vote, while commending INEC for making the process move very fine.
* The Anambra State Diretor of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Awka, Barrister Charles Nwoji, has described the ongoing February 25th general elections in the Country, Anambra State in particular as congenital, peaceful and violence free. The NOA Director, Barrister Nwoji, who was speaking during a press interview at Hausa Quarters, Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area as one the Domestic Observers of the elections in the three Senatorial Zones of the Anambra State, maintained that to the best of his understanding and knowledge that the elections were peaceful and violence-free in the areas he observed the elections.
* Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Felix Odimegwu has hailed the smooth and peaceful conduct of the exercise, which he attributed to the commendable efforts of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; the INEC, and the security agencies, who all kept their promises to ndị Anambra. Odimegwu, who voted at Polling Unit 009, Awor, Ezinifite, narrated how he got accredited and cast his vote without any hitches, even as he commended the residents for coming out en masse to cast their votes and for the maturity they displayed throughout the entire process.
* The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, and Bishop of Awka Diocese, the Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim who voted at Ward Six Amikwo Awka, Unit 009, has noted that the turnout of the voters was commendable, adding that the people crave for good leadership and lauded the level of measures put in place by INEC and commitment towards making the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS work. Archbishop Ibezim asked INEC to ensure that the actual result is pronounced, expressing hope that Nigeria by the grace of God will stand on a good footing after the whole exercise. He commended the level of security presence in his polling unit.
* Nigeria Union of Journalists regrets that some Nigerian Security Personnel and Politicians have learned little about good conduct during elections, as attacks on voters and journalists during 2023 general election across the country still persist. Reacting to the preliminary report from the NUJ Election Situation Room, the NUJ President, Comrade Chris Isiguzo expressedworry that at this crucial time of transition, Policemen still vent their anger on Journalists while some politicians continue to devise dubious ways and means of trying to disrupt the political process.
* An 81-year-old woman, Patricia Nkansimuo, has described yesterday’s presidential and National Assembly elections as peaceful and a remarkable improvement on previous polls.
Nkasimuo, from Agulu Community in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, said the turnout and conduct of the electorate and the security personnel were impressive.
