* Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has presented his score card as he marked his one year anniversary in office. In a town hall meeting held at the International Convention Centre ICC, Awka on Saturday, Soludo recalled his oath of office and swearing in ceremony of himself and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim in March 17, 2022. ANN reports that the Governor spoke about his administration’s efforts in the transportation sector; which include to construct modernized riverine water transportation, redesigning of inter-city and intra-city transportation systems, designing of modern bus terminals, ongoing construction of Anambra Airport, completion of feasibility study for a sky train pilot in Onitsha, among others.
* Hon. Maureen Chinwe Gwacham the Member-elect, Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency while wishing Happy Mothers Day to all Catholic Women Organization women on Sunday, said Motherhood is more than bearing children. Gwacham in a congratulatory message prayed for God’s blessings upon all mothers.
* An APC candidate at the just concluded election, Comr. Chidozie Orizu has extended warm felicitations to the House of Assembly Elect, Nnewi North Constituency, Hon. Sir, Augustine Onyedikachi ike Edorji. Orizu addressing newsmen said the good people of Nnewi North State Constituency, are in for better representation in the Anambra State Assembly after the new state parliament is inaugurated.
* The Transition Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon.(Mrs) Amaka Obi has expressed satisfaction with the contributions of mothers to the development of Idemili South, Anambra State and Nigeria at large. Obi, in a message to mark 2023 Mother’s Day, noted that mothers in Idemili South, Anambra and Nigeria have always lived up to their responsibilities.
* Anambra South Senator and winner of the 2023 Senatorial Election in the District, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has hosted the leaders of his party, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) at his Umuanuka Otolo Nnewi residence to appreciate them for their support. During the event, the Senator commended them for putting in their best in the just concluded National Assembly Election and reassured them that he will always encourage diligent members.
* Five men are said to have been burnt to death in Onitsha, Anambra State after they attempted to dispossess a tricycle operator of his tricycle. A source m who narrated the story to ANN, said the men tried to steal a tricycle from the owner in broad daylight when they ran out of luck and were caught
* Rangers International FC of Enugu on Sunday, 26th March 2023 took maximum points available in the match day 10 clash against Bayelsa United played at the Awka City Stadium, Anambra State. The win did not come easy as the flying antelopes had to come from behind to secure the vital win in the encounter. Bayelsa United went ahead in the 35th minute of the game as Alex Oyowa finished clinically from a team counter attacking play to give his side the lead in the first half and held on till half time. Goals from Chidiebere Nwobodo and Chidera Ezeh gave Rangers the win.
* The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has groaned its members are no longer given accomodation in all the communities in Ayamelum local government area of Anambra State. The Association called on the State Governor, Charles Soludo, to urgently intervene in the situation for the sake of peace and oneness.
