Trader’s wife with quintuplets seeks help

A 28-year-old housewife, Mrs Chidinma Amaechi, has called on government and spirited individuals to assist her offset over N7.5m hospital bills after delivering a quintuplet in Awka, Anambra State.

The quintuplets, consisting three boys and two girls, were delivered at the Life International Hospital, Awka, through caesarian operation on Thursday.

The babies are in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

Elder sister to the nursing mother, Mrs Ebele Oranekwu who spoke with journalists at the hospital, disclosed that the bill for the incubators alone is N250,000 per day, adding that the babies were expected to be there for about 30 days.

She said, “This bill amounted to about N7.5 million aside other huge bills already accumulated in the past two months of managing the delicate pregnancy at the hospital.

“We’re therefore calling on philanthropists, Governments and Non-Governmental Organisations to come to our aid to enable us offset the huge medical bills so we can reap the full benefits of God’s blessings upon our family.”
