Match day 12 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) between Enugu Rangers and Lobi Stars of Markurdi played at the Awka township stadium ended 1:1.
ANN reports that it was a goalless first half as both teams failed to convert their chances.

Former Enugu Rangers striker Elijah who was introduced at the beginning of second half, put the visitor ahead at the 60th minutes before former highest goal scorer in the NPFL Godwin Obaje equalized for Rangers at the 72th minutes.

Speaking with reporters after the game Enugu Rangers Coach Abdul Maikaba regretted that they couldn’t utalize most of their chances.

“The players played under pressures and it’s the reason we couldn’t score more goals. If they can be calm in front of goals, we will be scoring more goals. We have six more games to play which is 18 points and it’s possible that we will win all our remaining games.

Coach of Lobi Stars Babaganaru Mohammed in an interview with journalists after the game said it was an intensive game. Rangers is a good side with a very good coach and whoever that is playing them must be prepared.

“We came with a game plan. We did well just that we lost concentration which led to the equalizer. We are still on cause and our objective is to finish top three. Every match is important and we are going back to the drawing board to correct our mistakes and improve the team.
