* Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has declared ROTA Virus Vaccine free of charge for children between 0-12 months in all public health facilities.

The said ROTA Virus Vaccine which cost about N8000 for a dose of immunization in private hospitals, prevents incessant vomiting, excessive stooling and nausea in infants. But the vaccine has been completely declared free of any cost for all children in Anambra within the aforestated age bracket. 

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ben Afam Obidike, who disclosed this said Gov. Soludo is also empowering Primary Health Care through what he mentioned as Tele-Medicine, adding that the technology of telemedicine facilitates referrals from primary to secondary health facilities.

*A Chieftain of the All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Walter Chigbo says the development accomplishments of Governor Chukwuma Soludo within one year in office speak volume of his avowed commitment to repositioning Anambra State. Chigbo said the ongoing construction and reconstruction of roads across the State, employment of five thousand teachers for both primary and secondary Schools in Anambra State, in addition to the recruitment of over three hundred medical personnel for various hospitals is a clear testament that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is committed to improving the living standards of the people.

* A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Ben Uzuegbu has made a passionate appeal to the nation’s Appeal Court and the Supreme Court of Justice to engage in speedy adjudication of cases emanating from the widely disputed Presidential Election results in the country in which the Presidential Candidate of the ruling APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu was favoured by the electoral umpire, INEC. The Onitsha based Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a legal luminary in a chat, appealed to the courts as a matter of urgent national importance to engage in a speedy adjudication of the Presidential Election Cases before the them.

* A Non-Governmental Organization, Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-Orientation has presented an award of “Integrity Stewardship’ to the Head of Service of Anambra State Barrister Theodora Igwegbe. The organization is made up of professionals and skilled volunteers working towards free corrupt society, promoting Ethical Leadership and awakening the spirit of quality service delivery amongst the citizenry. 

* An Onitsha based business man and Chairman, Grain Seeds Dealers Association, Onitsha, Mr. Chijioke Okpala has described this year’s Easter celebration as one of the  worst in his life time. The market boss who expressed  worry on the hardship being faced by many Nigerians due to bad economic policies of the Federal Government, especially the recent naira redesign policy also noted that it was the worst of the government economic policy.

* Sector Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State has said over five thousand (5,000) unclaimed drivers’ licences are in its custody.

Irelewuyi who disclosed this stated that it was one of the major reasons that informed the ongoing ‘Operation Show Your Licence’ in the state. The FRSC boss, however, hoped that the ongoing enforcement would reduce unclaimed licences and increase applications for driver’s licence during the period.

* Perimeter fencing of the international leisure park in Agulu lake, Anaocha local Government Area has commenced. The Anambra state Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji, while interacting with some journalists in his office in Awka on the development, stated that there would be activities in the area by the end of this year. The Commissioner also listed other tourism sites which would soon be developed to include Ogba cave, Owerre Ezukala, and its waterfalls, Ziks Museum in Onitsha, Ojukwu bunker at Amorka, National Museum Center at Igbo-ukwu among others.

* Onitsha Correctional Centre skills Acquisition Centre built by the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha has received approval of the Comptroller-General of the Service for fencing of the facility. The skills acquisition centre which is located behind the main correctional facility was initiated and completed by the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Okeke. The facility which is now fully equipped with modern technology for skills acquisition had been deserted for a long time since it was established due to non approval for its fencing to protect the centre against vandals.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s leadership has been described as the most unique and innovative type of administration which has brought about quality governance to the state.

This remark was made by the provost Anambra state College of Health Technology, Obosi, Dr Daniel Ezeobi while speaking to newsmen in his office. Dr Ezeobi opined that for an administration just barley one year in office to employ five thousand teachers, recruit two hundred and seventy hospital personnel and engaged over one thousand youths in the one youth two skills initiative as well as embark on grandiose programme to train twenty thousand youth on digital skills is a great feet never seen in the history of governance in the country before.
