His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali-Aba has inaugurated the new Methodist Church of Nigeria, Awka diocese while the Archbishop, Enugu Archdiocese, Most Reverend Christopher Edeh, enthroned Rt. Rev. Moses Bishop Nwakamma as the pioneer bishop.
ANN reports that the inauguration, held at Cathedral of Holy Trinity Amaenyi, Awka, also featured the presentation of Sir. Ifeanyi Mba as the pioneer Lay President.

The event attracted a college of Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, knights, laities and legal team of the Methodist Church, different denominations, the academic community, traditional rulers and people from all walks of life.

Speaking after the service, His Eminence, Dr Ali-Aba said as leaders in the church, they were called to work for the salvation of souls as ecumenism is their core mandate.
He charged the citizens to take the nation to a higher pedestal by being in unity, promoting peace and having the progress of Nigeria at heart.
The celebrant, Bishop Nwakamma, during his sermon, appreciated God and the church for finding him worthy to be enthroned as the pioneer bishop of Awka Diocese. He assured them that he will use his new position to serve God and humanity.
