Labour Party (LP) spokesperson Obiora Abure was reportedly attacked at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, prompting the party to condemn the incident and demand protection.
According to the party, Abure was accosted and assaulted while attempting to board a flight. The LP accused “political thugs” of orchestrating the attack to intimidate its members.
In a statement, the LP urged law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident and ensure the safety of its officials, warning that attempts to suppress political expression will not be tolerated.
