Speaking during the exercise, The Managing Director Of The Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, Mr. Ossy Onuko restated the promise of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to Ndi Anambra to build a livable, prosperous homeland begins with individuals adhering to building and construction laws.
He said adhering to construction laws is one of the ways to achieve the Dubai, Taiwan of our dream.

According to him, the health hazard emanating from the piteable and unhealthy state of student residential area at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka is unimaginable as the drainage and water flow system of most hostel buildings are badly channeled or completely blocked.
He noted that human factor is one of the problems that’s impeding development. He expressed great displeasure over the recklessness of builders and developers with their building and construction materials.
Mr. Ossy Promised that ACTDA will be nice to building a befitting Capital Territory that people complies with the laws guiding development and building construction.
In his separate reaction, Engr. Charles Ekwunife, Head Of Development Control Department, while lamenting over the poor and disheartening conditions of the student environment warned defiant developers to desist from building on road setbacks and drainage system of face the full force of the Agency and the State Government.
The SUG President Of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Comrade Charles Ijeomah commended the swift intervention of the State And ACTDA in coming to the aid of students living in the area.

He described the actions of some developers as selfish and inhuman. He however, called for more strict laws established and drastic measures taken to curb continuous excesses by fraudulent developers.
The Agency went ahead to level loads of stones and sands dumped on the road by defiant developers and also opened up some blocked drainage system at Amawbia.
