ACTDA MD ‘Onuko’ Asks FG To Review Welfare Of Workers

The federal government has been asked to look inwards and review the welfare of workers in Nigeria, especially in view of the economic realities facing the citizens.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Mr Ossy Onuko made the call while receiving members of the Organised Labour, Anambra state chapter who called on him in his office in Awka.

Playing host to the group, Mr Onuko said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is very interested in the welfare of the state workforce and has been having a good relationship with them since inception.

He noted that his office will always partner with the Organised Labour in every move towards ensuring and promoting their welfare, adding that because his parents were civil servants, he understands what it means to raise a family with salary and will support whatever that would boost the living conditions of the workers.

The ACTDA boss expressed worry that the present economic realities in the country are biting hard on the workers, and urged the federal government to as a matter of urgency, review workers’ take home to ease their sufferings.
