Actor Uzor Arukwe Threatens Legal Action Over ‘False’ Rumours Linking Him to Colleague

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe, popularly known as “Dark Horse”, has publicly denounced what he described as false and defamatory rumours circulating online about his professional relationship with a Bamike Olawunmi-Adebuniyan, popularly known as BamBam, warning that those responsible could face legal consequences.

In a statement posted on his verified social media account, Arukwe said a specific online account had been identified as the source of “false rumors and baseless accusations” concerning him and BamBam.

“A specific account has been identified to spread false rumors and baseless accusations about me and my professional engagement with another colleague in the industry,” he wrote.

The actor declined to mention the account directly, saying he did not want to amplify it. “I choose not to quote the account directly, as I refuse to give such accounts the engagement they seek at the risk of jail time,” he said.

Arukwe added that action would be taken to set an example. “Believe me when I say this: that individual will be made a scapegoat so others learn to respect boundaries and refrain from chasing clout and Elon Musk money at the expense of damaging someone else’s reputation,” he stated.

The actor’s remarks followed viral posts alleging that BamBam had been divorced after reportedly becoming pregnant for a ‘colleague’ she worked with on a recent film project. The claims, which included references to leaked private chats, quickly gained traction on social media platforms.

While Arukwe did not directly reference the actress in his statement, his response was widely interpreted as addressing the circulating narrative linking him to the allegations.
