An attempt by the Enugu Catholic Bishop Callistus Onaga to replace Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka with another priest at the Emene Adoration met stiff resistance from the congregation who attempted to mob the new priest on Sunday.
Mbaka himself announced the resumption of Adoration with Church Service on Sunday, but the Adoration faithful who thronged the Emene ground to receive their own Mbaka were shocked with the ‘secret’ to change Mbaka with a new priest.
Mbaka who was given the difficult task of announcing his replacement could hardly finish the announcement when the crowd went wild in protest.
The revolt was soon directed at the new priest identified as one Fr. Anthony Amadi who had to be whisked away as the crowd surged to attack him.
The Adorationers have vowed that no other priest would be welcomed to the Ministry alleging gang up from certain quarters in the church.
