Aguluezechukwu Improvement Union Elects New Executives

Aguluezechukwu Improvement Union (AIU) a community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State has conducted the election which produced Mr.Anthony Ezeobijiofor as the interim President General (PG).

Other members of the executives are: Chief Paul Ezeokeke and Engineer Nzube Nwaba won first and Second vice Chairman, the post of Secretary and Assistant Secretary went to Engineer Agozie Ezeike , and Pastor Charles Okoli respectively.

Others are Pastor Chidi Onuigwe, Financial Secretary, Chief Jeff Onyenekwe, Treasurer, Chief Ezeokoli Ikenna Director of Social, Mr Okwuchukwu Okeke Assistant Director of Social, Mr Michael Nwaba, Chief Provost and Mr Chukwudalu Okpalaeke, Assistant Provost.

ANN reports that the Election was conducted under the Supervision of Anambra State Government, representative of Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne and staff of the Ministry as well as the Department of State Service was held at Aguluezechukwu town hall.

Addressing the interim Executives after their swearing in, the representative of the state government and local Government Ministry, Mr Henry Nwasike told them that their duties has commenced immediately and will last for six months reminding them that the present Administration is passionate about returning peace in all Communities.

Nwasike pointed out that Governor Chukwuma Soludo Administration wants Communities to elect their Presidents General and traditional rulers by themselves while urging them to work towards the development and progress of their town.

In his Acceptance Speech, the interim Presidents General Mr Ezeobijiofor commended Governor Soludo and the Commissioner Mr. Nwabunwanne for championing the cause of peace and stability in all the communities in the state . He promised carry everybody along to ensure peace and progress of the community .

A Stakeholder in the town and representative of Aguluezechukwu Development Foundation Mr. Ifeanyi Onuigwe expressed optimism that the interim Executive will bring new dawn to the town and used the opportunity to appeal to Governor Soludo to come to their aid on the Erosion menace threatening the town.

In his reaction the Chairman Enugwu Village , Aguluezechukwu , Chief Benneth Udoye expressed satisfaction with the Election and promised to ensure progress of the town .

Reverend Okwuchukwu Onyenekwe prayed for the Executives that God will continue to give them wisdom to pilot the affairs of the town. .

The tenure of the interim Executives will elapse on 30th December 2023.

Chairmen and Secretaries from the Seven villages of Aguluezechukwu namely; Enugwu, Ifite, Uhuehi, Eziagu, Ozalla, Umuchukwu and Ndi Okolo where also in attendance.
