The newly appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Anambra State, AIG Miller Dantawaye, has officially assumed duty as the 10th substantive AIG overseeing police operations in Anambra and Enugu States.
AIG Dantawaye succeeds AIG Godwin Eze, who recently retired from the Nigeria Police Force upon attaining the mandatory retirement age after a distinguished and meritorious career in service.
Speaking during a press briefing at the Zonal Headquarters in Ukpo, the new AIG expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his predecessor.
With more than two decades of policing experience, AIG Dantawaye assured officers, stakeholders, and residents of the zone that his administration would be anchored on professionalism, discipline, intelligence-led policing, respect for human rights, and enhanced collaboration with other security agencies in the fight against crime and criminality.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to effective service delivery, the protection of lives and property, and the promotion of public trust in policing through stronger community engagement.

AIG Dantawaye has held several strategic positions in the Nigeria Police Force, including Divisional Police Officer, Area Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Police in Kogi State and the Federal Capital Territory, and most recently, Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Federal Operations at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The Zone 13 Police Command, which comprises Anambra and Enugu States, has reassured residents of its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order, and supporting the strategic vision of the Inspector-General of Police.
