American model and television personality Amber Rose has declared she no longer identifies as a feminist, citing the influence of age and raising sons as the reason for her changed outlook.
“As I’ve gotten older and now have sons, I’m no longer a feminist. I still believe in girl power, but I see both sides now,” Rose said.
The 42-year-old, who has two sons, explained that her perspective on gender issues had broadened since becoming a mother. She maintained support for empowering women while emphasising a more balanced view.
Rose has previously spoken publicly in favour of women’s empowerment, body positivity and related causes. Her latest comments prompted online discussion, with some social media users questioning the shift and others attributing it to her experiences as a parent of boys.
