Anambra 7th Assembly Will Be Remembered For Passing Life Changing Bills, Motions – lawmakers

As the 7th Anambra assembly led by Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor round up its tenure in few weeks time, the lawmakers have recounted their journey; reviewing their performance and the lessons learnt.

Speaking with correspondents at the assembly complex, the legislators revealed how the 7th assembly performed and is still performing its functions, stating that they will be remembered for passing life changing bills and motions.

Hon. Obinna Emeneka

The member representing Anambra East constituency, Hon. Obinna Emeneka, a principal officer, while speaking with correspondents narrated how interesting, challenging and tasking the journey had been.

 “I feel happy and grateful to God for keeping us alive. This is my third tenure and I thank God that I’m coming out healthier than I used to be. It came with its challenges and experiences and lessons and we confronted it because we partnered with government.

“If you compare now and when we started, you can see that we made progress. I worked with three governors (Peter Obi, Willie Obiano and Chukwuma Soludo) it was with a whole lot of experience and this will give me the opportunity to face other professional duties.

“Legislature is very tedious but I’m still ever ready to serve the state, our people and make impact on humanity. 

“The 7th assembly did their best. It is left for the electorates to judge us. I have discharged my duties as they affect my office”.

Emeneka, who is the chairman house committee on finance and appropriation as well as member of other committees, maintained that the 7th assembly sponsored and co-sponsored bills and motions which are all cardinal responsibilities of a legislator.

“I touched and affected my constituents and made interventions, speeches when necessary because it is all about giving voice. I’m fulfilled because God kept me alive and healthy. 

“I must not fail to thank the peace loving people of Anambra East constituency that gave me that mandate. God will continue to bless them. Service is continuous. I will continue to serve whether I am in government or not”. 

Hon. Ejike Okechukwu

The member representing Aniocha 2 constituency, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu while speaking in an interview said the 7th assembly has performed very well in law-making, oversight functions and passing life changing motions and important bills that will improved the day to day life of Ndi-Anambra.

Hon. Okechukwu who is the house committee chairman on education named anti-grazing bills as one of the important bills passed by the 7th assembly targeted at uplifting the standard of living of the people.

The member representing Anambra West constituency and House committee chairman on Transport Hon. Patrick Udoba on his part  said he was so impressed with the 7th assembly. 

“As a first timer, I learned alot from my colleagues. We worked together as a team. We passed good bills such as The Riverine commission bill, which I know will give more life to my people who are living by the riverside.
