Anambra Assembly Calls For Pallative Work On Failed Portion Of Nnokwa – Nnobi Road

Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Managing Director, Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to urgently do a pallative work on the failed portion of the Nnokwa-Nnobi road.

Member representing Idemili South constituency Hon. Igwe Chukwuebuka the chief sponsor of the motion during his presentation stated that
the provision of Section 15 (3) (a) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, provides that the State shall be responsible for providing adequate facilities so as to ease the free movement of people, goods and services throughout the Federation.

According to Hon. Igwe “The Nnokwa-Nnobi road is a very strategic road connecting Adazi — Nnokwa — Nnobi — Nnewi, serving the needs of many motorist and communities along the said road.

“The present state of this road if left unattended to, will endanger both the lives of road users and by extension properties of the Surrounding communities.

“The urgent rehabilitation of the failed portion of this road will reinvigorate the socio-economic activities in the affected communities

Supporting the motion Hon. Azubuike Udemezue, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, Hon. Noble igwe, Hon. Tony Muobike, Hon. Ike Augustine, Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi, Hon. Golden iloh, Hon. Jude Akpua and Hon. Fred Ezenwa called for an urgent palliative work.

According to the lawmakers, “This road needs urgent attention and if the state government don’t do it now, in the nearest future, it will cost the state more because it will led to total reconstruction.

The house was adjoined to Tuesday 8th August 2023.
