Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Managing Director of Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to commence palliative work on the failed portion at Oko bumbs along Ekwulobia -Oko-Ufuma-Umunze road.

The member representing Orumba North constituency, Hon. Paul Chukwuka Obu who is the chief sponsor of the motion said that the condition of the road is very dis-heartning which has affected the students of Oko-polythecnic.
” Good road network is important for convinent travel. Maintainance is essential which enhence
commerce and industry.
“Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has recorded unprecidented milestone on road construction across the 21 local government areas in the state in the past 15 months.
” The present condition of the failed road potion has become nightmare for drivers and commuters who ply this road daily which has resulted to accidents and constant visit to mechine.
“If Palliative works is carried out on the failed road, it will make traffic free, minimize accident and save life, decress transportation cost and generally enhence economic growth in the area.
“The number of hours spent on the road is effecting students of Oko-Poly and traders who transport their goods from Oko to Ufuma”. Obu submitted
Contributing to the motion, Hon. John Akpua, Hon. Noble Igwe. Hon. Ejike Okechukwu. Hon. Patrick Okafor. Hon. Fredrick Ezenwa, Hon. Patrick Udoba and Hon. Kingsley Udemezue while supporting the motion called for an urgent intervention.
“The failed portion had caused series of accidents. This road is important because it leads to various destinations.
‘The risk and hardship the passengers plying the road are undergoing cannot be underestimated.
“The failed portion would serve as an avenue for hoodlums to wreck havoc on innocent passengers along the road.This roads are erosion prone and when they are not quickly fix, it might cause the state more”. The lawmakers submitted.
