Anambra Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure Commends Ongoing Flood Control Project in Ekwulobia, Oko

Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing flood control project in Ekwulobia and Oko and described the progress as commendable despite weather challenges.

The Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Engineer. Emma Nwafor who also represents Orumba South Constituency, made this known during the committee’s oversight visit to the project site.

Speaking at the site, Engineer Nwafor stated that the project is crucial in mitigating perennial flooding in this area.

“We are here to inspect the flood control project, and we are impressed with the level of work done so far. Despite the challenges posed by the rainy season, the progress recorded is commendable.

He further expresses the committee’s commitment to ensuring quality and timely execution of infrastructural projects across the state and assured that the Assembly would continue to monitor developments closely.

On behalf of the company handling the project, Engineer Omamofo Ken-Wiwa appreciated government’s support and assured the committee that the project would be delivered according to specifications.

He noted that rain is a major challenge posed, but affirmed that the company will execute a durable and efficient flood control system for the affected communities.

Furthermore, the committee visited Ekwulobia flood control phase one, the chairman of the committee noted that work is ongoing despite the rains.

Engineer Nwafor commended the quality of materials and equipments on site, the stability of the flood channel at Ekwulobia phase one while confirming it will stand the taste of time.
