Anambra Assembly Committee On Works And Infrastructure Inspects Okija-Ihiala Road

Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure on Wednesday conducted an inspection of the ongoing Okija-Ihiala road.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that House Committee Chairman on Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Emma Nwafor while speaking during their over sight function at the 4.1 km road, said the inspection aimed to assess the progress, quality, and challenges associated with the project.

” From what we have seen, the road has been tiled, but their are alot of discripanses which need to be amended including overlaying. From all indications, drains are flowing and the community have been cooperating with the contractors’. Engineer Nwafor said.

The member representing Ihiala two Constituency, Hon. Golden Iloh said his people has been clamoring for this project because its a major road connecting Ihiala town and Okija.

” Governor Chukwuma Soludo hackeneyed to our cry and immediately his assumption in office, awarded the contract. With what we have seen, It is near completion. My people came out in their large numbers to express their joy and we are happy’. Hon. Iloh said.

Speaking on behalf of Rojal company, the site engineer, Mr. Mark Agu said the maintenance and corrections pointed out by the lawmakers have been observed and noted. He promised the Committee members that more efforts will be made to meet up to the deadline.

The Youth Leader of the community, Mr. Victor Obi expressed happiness over the progress on the road, and caller for the addition of bumbs so as to checkmate speed limits of road users. He promised that they will continue to support Soludo’s administration through ensuring that the Governor returned for second term.
