Anambra Assembly committee on works commend on going Ekwulobia flyover

The Anambra State House Committee on works has embarked on oversight to monitor and observe different road projects in the State.

The recall that on July 25,2023, the Anambra State House of Assembly constituted twenty nine standing committees to oversight MDAs according to powers vested on them by section 128 of the Nigerian Constitution as amended.

The chairman of the committee, Mr Emmanuel Nwafor (Orumba South) said they came to have on the spot assessment of the project.

“We came to check if they are working with the specifications by the regulatory council of engineering of Nigeria and working with the governor’s directive

“Any well constructed bridge is supposed to last for hundreds of years. We have seen the size of your heavy columns, they are all sizeable to carry heavy duty vehicles and because we are expecting a dual carriage on the road

“We are highly impressed with the type of piling we saw, it’s a pile that will last for years. They have a standard and we are happy to see everything going in order and right specification

“People are happy seeing the serious work on the flyover. We saw alot of equipments being used and work is ongoing as it should and we commend the contractor”, Mr Emmanuel pointed out.

The project manager for AG vision, Mr Lawal said the project duration is eighteen months and promised to deliver the job accordingly and within the specified period.

“We started work about three months ago and most of the works are more than 45% done and other ones will commence once the rain stops”, Mr Lawal noted.
