Anambra Assembly Confirms 21 Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen, Counselors

Anambra State House of Assembly at plenary on Thursday confirm 21 Local Government Transition Committee (TC) Chairmen and their counselors.

ANN reports that Governor Chukwuma Soludo in a letter, sent the names of the TC chairmen and counselors to the Anambra 8th assembly for screening and confirmation.

The 21 Transition Committee chairmen are; Chibueze Ofobuike (Aguata), Ansalim Onuorah (Anambra East), Felix Ikechi (Anambra West), Ozor Ikechukwu (Anaocha), ThankGod Anagoh (Awka North), Anagw ThankGod (Awka South), Livinus Onyenwe (Ayamelum), Onyemobi Augustine (Dunukofia), Chimezie Obi (Ekwusigo), ChuksBrown Igboanua (Idemili North), Obi Amaka (Idemili South), Anayo Ojiaku (Ihiala), Aguayi Clement (Njikoka), Chris Obiora (Nnewi North), Aniagboso Ikenna (Nnewi South), Aniagbona Pascal (Ogbaru), Ozoma Aniochie (Onitsha North), Emeka Orji (Onitsha South), Ogochukwu Ekwueme (Orumba North), Prince Noville Uchendu (Orumba South), Emmanuel Nweke (Oyi)

Anambra assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze while congratulating the TC chairmen after the confirmation, adviced them to go back to their various local government and reconcile most of the issues at the grassroots.

According to the Speaker “Try as much as possible to carry your counselors along. Make sure that there are activities going on at your local government. You are third terms of government and have direct contact and interaction with those at the grassroot.

“Try as much as possible to reconcile most of the issues at your local governments and most importantly, lead by example’.

In a vote of thanks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ayamelum local government, Hon Livinus Onyenwe expressed gratitude to the Speaker and the entire 8th anambra assembly members for their advice and encouragements.

Hon. Onyenwe promised that they will leave up to expectations. He assured that in the next three months more achievement will be recorded in the entire 21 local government of the state.

Shortly after the plenary ANN spoke will some of the TC Chairmen on their vision and mission during the Three months confirmation as TC Chairmen.

Hon. Ogochukwu Ekwueme, TC Chairman Orumba North LG expressed joy for the confirmation and promised to bring in more divident of democracy in his local government. He thanked the good people of Orumba North for the support and solidarity. He also thanked Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the state house of assembly for the confirmation to do more work.
