Anambra Assembly Confirms 2nd Batch Of Soludo’s Commissioner Nominees

The Anambra State House of Assembly at plenary on Thursday, confirmed the second batch of commissioner-nominees submitted by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The confirmed nominees are Arc. Henry Arinze for Housing, and Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu for Commerce.

Prof. Soludo had submitted their names to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation on Wednesday.

The Chairman House Committee on Screening and Electoral Matters, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye (Deputy Speaker) while presenting the report, said the nominees met all statutory requirements for public office and possessed the requisite academic qualifications and professional experience.

While congratulating the nominees, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze said the confirmation was a call to serve, noting that Governor Soludo had placed significant trust in the nominees, and that Ndi Anambra expected much from them.

Rt. Hon. Udeze urged the Commissioners
to remember they were working for the people of Anambra, and to let their conduct reflect that responsibility.

” You are holding this office in trust. Your integrity matters alot. Show good example and remember that the House Committee on Housing and that of Trade and Commerce at some point, will be visiting your ministry for oversight, cooperate with them”. Udeze stated.

In a vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Housing, Arc. Arinze, thanked the House for the confirmation and pledged to work diligently in service of the state.

Angel Network News (ANN) recall that the Anambra State House of Assembly on Wednesday, confirmed 16 commissioner nominees sent to the House by Prof. Soludo.

The House adjourned and to reconvene on Tuesday May 19, 2026.
