Anambra Assembly Confirms Udechukwu As Commisioner For Industry

Anambra State House of Assembly at their recent plenary, confirmed Mr. Christian Chukwudozie Udechukwu as the Commissioner for Industry.

The lawmakers made the consideration and confirmation after the presentation of report by the chairman house committee on screening and election matters, Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike who is also the deputy speaker.

Agbodike said after inviting Mr. Udechukwu for screening, they were satisfied and convinced that he is suitable for the position. The deputy speaker recommended that Udechukwu be considered and confirmed as the commissioner for Industry.

Udechukwu while answering questions from the legislators said the first thing he would do as a commissioner was to strengthen the existing industries in Anambra State by making policies that will favour them and that he will also strengthen those manufacturing firms that are struggling in terms of capacity building and certification. 

The lawmakers, in their recommendations, appealed to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to return Trade and Commerce back into the Ministry of Industry stating that it would enable the new commissioner apply his wealth of knowledge.

ANN recalls that  Anambra Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor last Thursday April 20th at plenary read out the letter by Governor Chukwuma Soludo nominating Mr. Christian Chukwudozie Udechukwu as Commissioner for Industry.

Okafor while congratulating the new commisioner urged him to contribute his quota towards improving Anambra State.

“The house of assembly is like the watch dog. Whenever you derail, we will put you back on track. We will give you all the support you need. We pray that God will guide you’. The speaker submitted.

Udechukwu, in a vote of thanks after the confirmation, thanked Governor Soludo for the confidence imposed on him.  “May God help us all. I pray for the strength, courage and vision as I discharge my duty,” He prayed.
