Anambra Assembly Elected Members Receive Certificate Of Return

 

You will be remembered by your good works – REC tells elected lawmakers 

Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Anambra State Dr. Queen Elizabeth Agwu on Friday March 31st 2023 issued certificates of return to the 30 Anambra State House of Assembly members-elect at the Independent Nàtional Electoral Commission (INEC)  state office, Awka the capital of Anambra State.

ANN reports that Dr. Agwu while addressing the elected Anambra lawmakers urged them to keep to their campaign promises stating that they will be remembered their good works after office.

The member to represent Awka South 1 constituency Hon. Henry Mbachu in an interview with reporters said the wishes, and voice of the masses prevailed at the polls. “My people needed a laud voice and action in the state house of assembly and they decided to choose me and Labour Party. I contested this election without sharing one naira at the polling unit. I will never fail my people. They gave me this mandate and it is only their intreast that I will protect. 

Speaking in an interview, Chief Innocent Chukwuemeka Ojike the member elect Oyi constituency in an interview with reporters expressed gratitude to his friends and well wishers and all who supported his ambition from beginning to the end. He promised not to disappoint those who voted him into office assuring them that he will deliver his campaign promises. Ojike commended INEC for conducting free, fair and credible election. 

Member-elect Ihiala 2 constituency Hon. Chukwuebuka Golden in an interview with newsmen stated that he is coming with experience into the 8th assembly. He commended Governor Chukwuma Souldo’s effort in tackling insecurity, promising to join hands with the state government in sacking hoodlums in Ihiala. He maintained that as a lawmaker, he will continue to be the voice of his people. 

The member who will be representing Nnewi North constituency Sir Augustine Onyekachukwu Ikedioji said the election was unique because he got 20,000 votes which is a prove that his people believe in him. He promised that voters will feel the impact of his representation at the 8th assembly. 

Hon. Patrick Udoba the member representing Anambra West constituency stated that his re-election is a sign of trust from his people. Udoba revealed that he will continue to give quality representation, lawmaking and oversight function. He praised INEC for conducting a credible election stating that the introduction of BVAS is a welcomed development and a credit to INEC. 

Hon. Obi Nweke the member elected to represent Anambra East constituency in an interview with journalists expressed happiness on the successful issuing of the certificate of return. “This shows that I emerged the winner of the March 18th election”. He hailed the improvement of INEC stating that the election was credible, transparent and free. Hon Nweke commended the media, security and other stakeholders for the roles the played in making sure that the election was successful.

Dr. Jude Akpua the member elect Njikoka 2 constituency  on his part dedicated his victory at the polls to his constituents assuring them that he will deliver his campaign promises and change the narrative. “I will not disappoint my people”. He assured.
