… Anambra assembly will continue to improve the living condition of their constituents – Speaker
Anambra state House of Assembly on Thursday held it’s last plenary session for the year 2022 with special mass held for members and at the legislative complex in Awka.
Anambra Assembly Rt Hon. Uche Okafor says the rapid development of Anambra State will remain top priority of the House. He expressed gratitude to God for giving them the grace to perform their legislative duties successfully which aided accelerated development of Anambra State.
“This year has been very challenging to the House as they lost two of their members, late Honourable Okechukwu Okoye and late Dr. Nnamdi Okafor and held series of valedictory sessions for their departed colleagues and urged Ndi Anambra to keep praying for the state legislature.
He assured that members of Anambra State House of Assembly will continue to improve the living condition of their constituents through various empowerment programmes and support Governor Chukwuma Soludo through enactment of quality laws that will enable him realize his vision for the state.
Earlier in a homily, the catholic priest who presided over the Mass, Rev. Fr. Tobias Osigwe called on public office holders to always work for the benefit of the people as they will be judged by their performances after they left office.
Osigwe enjoined members of Anambra State House of Assembly to always discharge their constitutional responsibilities without fear or favour in the interest of the state. The mass featured prayers for the lawmakers, staff of Anambra State House of Assembly, Anambra State and Nigeria.
At Plenary, Deputy Majority leader Hon. Emeka Aforka while moving the motion for adjoinment, congratulated the 7th assembly for the achievements made in 2022.
“We have participated actively in our legislative engagement. We have showed ndi Anambra that the mandate giving to us is not a waste. We have served Anambra state very well this year 2022. We have done well going by the records of our achievement and through motions and bills and the laws we have passed. Recently, we passed the 2023 budget and have giving Anambra state a framework and the devesend of democracy.
