Anambra Assembly Inspect Construction Work On Onolibe Street, Amawbia

Anambra State House of Assembly committee on works has visited the on-going construction work at Onolibe Street, Awawbia in Awka South Local Government Area.

Chairman House Committee on Works, Hon. Emma Nwafor and other members, as part of their constitutional responsibilities, visited the area to ascertain the progress of work.

Hon Nwafor while speaking observed that the construction firm handling the project is working according to specifications and added that Onolibe street is a major link road from Amawbia  by-passs. 

The Committee observed that some buildings encroached into the road and àssured that they will make recommendations to Anambra State House of Assembly on how best to salvage the situation and urged residents of the area to keep supporting the firm constructing the road so that  the project will go on unhindered. 

In his remarks, the project manager, Engineer Daniel Nkwonta explained that Onolibe street is one of the nine roads in Amawbia measuring three point five kilometers they are working on and will finish them by June next year. 

On his part, an indigene of Amawbia, Mr. David Anaekwe expressed joy at the solid jobs done so far by the firm handling the project and commended the Committee for oversighting the project with a view to preventing execution of shoddy jobs.
