Members of Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works has inspected the on-going dualization and reconstruction of Amawbia-Agulu-Ekwulobia road.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure Hon. Emma Nwafor, during an oversight visit to the project site, emphasized that the road is vital for reducing traffic congestion and improving connectivity between communities within the state and neighboring states, thereby facilitating trade, movement, and communication.
Hon. Nwafor who is the member representing Orumba South Constituency accompanied by other members of the committee including Hon. Tony Muobike (Aguata two) Hon. Golden Iloh (Ihiala two) and Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba (Anambra West) described the construction as a crucial infrastructural project that is set to enhance the socio-economic activities in the state.
According to Nwafor, the progress of work on the road is commendable and aligns with the state government’s vision of creating a more accessible and economically vibrant state.
The lawmaker lauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his commitment to enhancing the state’s road network and pointed out that the governor’s focus on infrastructural development is already yielding positive results, as seen in the improved road conditions and ongoing projects across Anambra.
However, the committee also inspected the Overpass Flyover at Aroma Junction in Awka, designed to ease traffic flow in the state capital and noted that the completion of the flyover would significantly reduce travel time and enhance safety for commuters.
The committee members also visited Awka Dump Site to assess the level of work being done there, and expressed amazement at the progress and quality of the ongoing project.
