Anambra Assembly Is Passionate About Making Laws That Will Empower Less Privileged Persons : Ogbuefi

The member representing Anaocha one constituency Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi says the Anambra State House of Assembly will continue to make laws and resolutions that will ensure more funding for the less Privileged and rural women as the world celebrates International Women’s Day.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Hon. Ogbuefi who is the Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, states this when they visited the Commissioner for Women Affairs Mrs. Ify Obinabo in Awka.

According to the lawmaker, their is need for government to empower rural women especially the less previledged persons to become self reliant and contribute towards the development of the state.

Ogbuefi noted that the lawmakers were poised to seeing that more women in the various communities get to feel the impact of government policies and Programmes as it relates to the Ministry activities.

She noted that in line with the Governor Soludo prudent management of resources, the state House of Assembly will ensure that funds appropriated to ministries, departments and agencies are used for the overall interest of the people especially women, Girl child and children.

Also Speaking, the member representing Orumba North Constituency, Hon. Paul Obu said the Committee is eager to know the peculiar challenges in the ministry and how the legislative arm could come in to assist through law making.

The member representing Nnewi North Constituency Hon. Augustine Ike enjoined the ministry to ensure timely rescue of vulnerable persons and quick discharge of justice to marginalized persons in rural Communities.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo said the ministry will continue to discharge it’s responsibility as expected and also ensure that vulnerable persons get justice and proper care.

Mrs Obinabo expressed her readiness to continue to collaborate with the law makers to realize the dreams and aspirations of the Soludo led administration.

The Women Affairs Commissioner appealed to the law makers to always support and provide legislative backings to the ministry to encourage the staff function effectively while trying to rescue the vulnerable and marginalized persons .
