Anambra Assembly Members Elect Concludes Induction Retreat

 

…We are now prepared for the assignment – Ibemeka

Members of the in-coming Anambra 8th assembly on Wednesday June 7, 2023 concluded a three day induction treaning.

Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi

Member elect Anaocha one constituency Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi while speaking to reporters after the Induction treaning commended the resource persons stating that it was an educative and an eye opener.

“We are here on a training and have been thought on how to pass laws, bills and motion and also work in coperation with the executive and judiciary in order to uphold the peace, development, law and order in Anambra state.

” We where thought the processes of budget preparation, legislative procedings and the decurom of how to operate in the state house of assembly. I learned alot and with the success of this treaning, am equipped and ready for this responsibility”.

Hon. Ofodeme Ikenna

The member elect, Ekwusigo constituency Hon. Ofodeme Ikenna while speaking to newsmen after the Induction retreat maintained that the roles of a lawmaker has been fully explained.

“We had the opportunity of listening to all the key notes and our minds have been redesigned on what should have been our way of campaigning. We now realized that their are limits of work a legislator can do.

“It takes the three arms of government to work together in actualizing the devedends of democracy. It is now obvious that everything the executives wants to implement, their is need for us to play a very big role.

“Comfirming what other arms of government wants to do, over-seeing it and investigating how far they have gone. If we could be able to perform all our duty as expected. It requires humility, passio, time, dedication.

Hon. Chidiebere Ibemeka

Member elect, Njikoka one constituency Hon. Chidiebere Ibemeka in an interview with newsmen said the essence of this training is to prepare the 8th assembly ahead of the assignment they are about to under-take.

“It helped me on the need to focus on the primary roles of becoming a legislator and what am going to face in the near future. We are now prepared for the assignment and i will not toil with the trust and confidence of my constituents in me.

“I will give them maximum representation and be accountable. I will be active and make good contributions for the progress of Anambra state and key into the manifesto of the vision of 2070 which was implemented by Governor Chukwuma Soludo. We will back him with all the legislative support in making Anambra a levable and prosparious state

Hon. Nobel Igwe

Member representing Ogbaru one constituency Hon. Nobel Igwe while answering questions from journalists appreciated and commended the facilitators who thought on the principles of legislation and the process of lawmaking.

“It gave me the opportunity to learn new processes. I will perform better at the 8th assembly” Igwe said
